Daily drivers to lifted 4WDs

Wheel alignment & balancing, Brisbane.

Straighter tracking, safer handling and a lot more life out of your tyres. We align everything from daily drivers to lifted 4WDs carrying a full touring setup.

Alignment

Wheel alignment, Brisbane

A wheel alignment sets the angles your wheels sit at, so the vehicle tracks straight, steers properly and wears its tyres evenly. It is the cheapest job in the workshop that saves you the most money.

A vehicle out of alignment pulls to one side, sits with the steering wheel off-centre, and quietly destroys a set of tyres. We check and adjust camber, caster and toe against the manufacturer's specification, then road test it.

If something cannot be brought back into spec because a component is worn or bent, we tell you what it is and what it costs before we go further. That repair work lives on mechanical repairs.

Wheel balancing

Balancing is a different job to alignment, and people mix them up constantly. A vibration through the steering wheel at highway speed is usually a balance problem. We balance every wheel we fit, and rebalance an existing set if you have picked up a vibration.

Wheels and tyres

We fit and balance wheels and tyres, with a straight answer on what suits the vehicle. A road tyre on a weekend gravel rig is a puncture waiting to happen. A mud terrain on a ute that never leaves the bitumen is noise, fuel and wear you did not need.

Lifted & loaded

Alignment for lifted and loaded 4WDs

This is where a lot of workshops come unstuck. A lifted 4WD, or one running a GVM upgrade, sits at completely different suspension geometry to standard. Aligning it back to the factory numbers does not work.

We align to what the vehicle actually is now, taking into account the lift, the load it carries day to day, and the tyres on it. Where the standard adjustment range is not enough, we fit adjustable upper control arms or castor correction bushes.

Every GVM upgrade and every bull bar or tray fitment we do finishes with an alignment for exactly this reason.

Questions we get every week

How often should you get a wheel alignment?

Every 10,000 to 15,000 kilometres, or once a year. Sooner if you have hit a kerb or pothole, fitted new tyres, changed the suspension, or had a lift or GVM upgrade done. We check it at every service.

How much does a wheel alignment cost?

It depends on two-wheel or four-wheel alignment and whether adjustable components are needed to bring a lifted 4WD back into spec. Call with the make and model and we will give you a fixed price.

How do I know if I need one?

The vehicle pulls to one side, the steering wheel sits off-centre, the tyres wear unevenly, or the steering feels vague. Book it in before the tyres are ruined.

Do I need an alignment after a lift kit or GVM upgrade?

Yes, always. Changing ride height changes camber, caster and toe. We do the alignment as part of every GVM and suspension job.

What is the difference between alignment and balancing?

Alignment is the angle the wheels sit at, and affects tracking and tyre wear. Balancing is weight distribution around the wheel, and affects vibration. Different problems, often needed together.

Do you do 4WD wheel alignment near Darra?

Yes. We are on Acanthus Street in Darra, off the Ipswich Motorway, and lifted 4WDs are our bread and butter. See our full service area.
