ECU remapping, done in house
A diesel tune should be written for your engine, your fuel, your load and the way you actually drive. Most of what gets sold as a tune is a generic file flashed onto whatever turns up. We do not work that way, and the difference shows up in the towing, not the dyno sheet.
Software only
A Stage 1 tune is a software-only remap of the factory ECU. No hardware changes. It sharpens throttle response, lifts torque where you actually use it, and generally makes a modern common rail diesel drive the way it should have from the factory.
We write 4x4 diesel tuning files for HiLux, Ranger, LandCruiser, D-Max and the rest, with ECU remapping done in house at Darra.
Engine-specific
Each engine wants a different file. A 2.8 HiLux, a 3.2 Ranger and a 4.5 V8 200 Series respond to completely different maps, and the towing loads they carry are different again. A ute running a tray and canopy and a full dual battery setup is a different job to an empty wagon.
Tell us the vehicle and what it does for a living, and we will tell you what the remap does on that engine and what it costs.
Why it works better here
01
Just had a GVM upgrade? You are towing heavier than you were. A tune written for that load gives you torque where the trailer needs it, better economy on the long haul, and an engine that is not working at the top of its range for eight hours.

Yes. We keep the factory file and can flash it back.
Stage 1 is software only. Stage 2 pairs the software with supporting hardware. We will tell you which suits once we know the vehicle and what it tows.
A remap rewrites the factory ECU for your engine. A tuning box intercepts sensor signals and tricks the ECU. A remap is the more precise tool, and it is what we do.
Yes. Bring the vehicle to Darra. We check the service history and the hardware first, because a remap on a neglected engine is a remap on a problem. If it needs a service or mechanical repairs first, we tell you before we touch the tune.
